The Mannamong Volume 2

Freshly healed from her strange fevers, Kali Teal’s reprieve is short-lived. Tontorus—the rogue mannamong who fitted himself into her life (and soul)—is on the run, using her as a shield in his desperate bid to evade capture by his kin.

But his presence comes at a price. As Kali begins to fade from existence, her humanity slipping away, she must choose: resist the spirit or learn to cooperate. Only true harmony might save them both before time runs out.

Another amazing read from Michael Adam Lengyel

I originally found Michael on Kickstarter a few years ago and decided to support him on his first The Mannamong Book series, and I was so glad I did. In anticipation for the second book to come out, I supported him once again and just received the second book. The graphics and beautiful coloring are wonderful. Having gone to fashion design school myself, I can truly say that his mystical costume designs and flow are spot on for the characters and what they evoke. The book is compelling and is a real page turner leaving you wanting more. I look forward for the 3rd book to come out.

A fantastic second volume!

Wow! That was a fantastic second volume! So much heart and depth and mystery! The characters (human and mannamong) were still wonderful and drawn beautifully! The main character actually feels like and acts like a child. She reacts the way an 8-year-old would but is also competent and grows. So her character definitely has development! Even Tonto, the mannamong, does too! And that ending! I didn't see it coming! Such a perfect twist or cliffhanger to end on! I need to know what happens next!

Good book that continues the plot from book 1

I got this book with book 1 shortly after its released, and book 2 continues where book 1 left off.In summary about the plot, we start to learn about the rouge spirit's past through several daydreams that the girl has in each chapter, but at the same time, the girl starts turning into a spirit herself and on the vogue from disappearing from both the spirit and human world. At the same time, there's conflicts and fights going on through the book against the different people that try to help and hurt both the girl and rouge spirit, and it creates an environment that you'll be experiencing different feelings through reading book 2.I'll say that book 2 does feels somewhat like Sonic the Hedgehog in a way since some scenes make you think back to how Shadow got along with the only human that cared about him (Sonic Adventure 2 reference here), and it's nice that some of the flashbacks are kind of that like. In addition, book 2 does end with a cliffhanger that felt a bit rush and leaving me a lot of questions, but I did hear from the author somewhere that there will be a book 3 out in the future to finish off the plot for a happy ending, hopefully.Otherwise, book 2 didn't disappoint me like book 1, and I can't wait to see how it ends/continues in book 3 once it is released.

An interesting take on a children's experience of the world.

The story really picks up in the second book! I'm glad that the author displays struggling as a real, time-sinking experience like I have felt and seen it to be. Even though there are hints and helpers around you that are somewhat "forced" to help you with your problem because of your inability, just simply knowing how to better get through something will not immediately fix the problem. Each comic so far has left me a bit sad about Kali and the story of it all. It's very real the problems that they are all dealing with. I wonder if the ending will satiate my curiosity about if Kali and Tonto will survive and/or end up suffering for even longer.I don't think I can necessarily say how good I think the series is without knowing the ending, but what I have wrote is my take on it so far. I wrote a review on the first book of Mannamong as well, and it includes some of the other things I like about the story. My review on the first book has the same headline!
